RESIDENT OF ESTONIA ABOUT ESTONIANS

The first known traces of any settlement on the historical Terra Mariana on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland go back to 8000 years B.C.

Based on the DNA studies, one can speak about Indo-Europeans, who anthropologically were similar to their neighbours - the Russians and the Latvians.

3000 years B.C. the nations belonging to the Finno-Ugric White-Sea race reached the coast of the Gulf of Finland. They influenced the shaping and development of the local aborigines mostly linguistically, culturally and ethnographically, less anthropologically. External features of Estonians resemble mostly Euripides, on could even say Arians of the Atlantic-Baltic race - this is the highest self-evaluation of the Indo-Germanic race.

Probably not because of anything similar to genocide, at least not in the medieval sense, nevertheless, 800 years of slavery have strongly damaged the features of their soul because the development of their free mind was hampered. The Christian moral did not root itself because their sub-consciousness resisted taking over the belief of the Europeans – alternatives were not possible. Thus there was nothing this small nation could rely on to be united on one common edification basis.

Estonians have remained distrustful and selfish individuals, just like none of the slaves tolerate those similar to him, whereas the wish to be similar to the master seems comical both to those of his own kind as well as to the masters. The words by the Estonian literary classic

A.H. Tammsaare describes the actual situation, “Nobody likes Estonians and Estonians do not like anybody, but they should …”

Until the beginning of the XX century higher education was practically out of their reach. But the inferiority complex due to this lag created the urge to become a human being. Unusual slyness had to replace common wisdom.

It takes time for new-settlers to understand Estonians. It is only after two or three generations that it is possible to become generous and comprehensive just like it has become a norm among the Russian-speaking Orthodox minority living here for several generations. This patience should become a norm also for other nations coming from Europe and who have been brave enough involve this tiny corner of the world in their plans.

Estonians are rather capable of learning and working in case their inferiority complex is motivated by a success perspective. Physically this nation is well capable and trainable. Therefore there have always been some world top sportsmen of Estonian origin.

Estonians are stubbornly success-orientated; they are not morally biased being good workers in a moderate price class. It is only the index of trustworthiness that does not allow raising the class.

According to the assessment the pure-typed population of Estonians with a clearly distinguishable soul, manner and mental heritage does not exceed half a million persons.

This small nation has heroically remained in the colonial settlement. Let us preserve this rarity as our common property.

Pax vobiscum!
